Ease of use, great customer service, I was able to negotiate my trade commissions down to $3.95 per trade from $6.95 per trade due to my somewhat frequent trading and comparison to Fidelity and Robinhood’s lower commissions.
I think the commissions could be lowered even more. Some broker-assisted trades still cost $38.00 per transaction which is on the high side.

The trades are still $5.00 and are almost instantaneous during trading hours because they are grouped in with other traders using the same application.
The first page I come to is a stock that I looked at but do not own. I would prefer that the entrance page would be my positions page.

The TD Ameritrade app offers nearly the full functionality of their website. I can switch between multiple accounts (for example standard and IRA accounts) as long as they are already linked together. The app lets you view quotes for stocks, stock positions that you already have, and see gain/loss charts for current positions.
The app does display a "news" section for a stock that you are viewing, but it would be useful if the app would be able to link to other providers of other financial information such as Seeking Alpha or Finimize articles.

Easy access to help. Good starter 'classes' to help get you up and running. Well organized once you've become accustomed to the platform.
It's a lot to digest for a new investor. There are so many things to consider – a simplified platform to start would be easier along with options to add advanced options.

The signup process was pretty straightforward. Using the application was intuitive enough and allowed me to do what I wanted. They also offered options trading.
I wish the options trading was more straightforward. I had a trading strategy in mind but it was really difficult to execute things like a put-spread.

The availability of various tools is impressive. There is assistance available, which I found to be needed periodically, and it was quick.
Enhanced user guide and operating instructions would be helpful.

It's a simple platform to use with web and mobile app so you can use whichever you prefer. Also, the fee is flat and simple.
The app could be simpler. I prefer the web since it's easier for me to navigate. You don't want to make a trade when you're not sure what's happening on the app sometimes. I only use the app to check prices and then log onto the web if I needed to trade.

When I first got this, I was a beginner but it was quite easy to use and the app has gotten progressively better and a bit more intuitive. You can customize your dashboards and transfer funds. You can also use the chat option for customer support in the app.
They currently offer multiple apps for different needs, which can be a good thing but it's confusing trying to figure out which one you need.

Great research tools make TD the best option for the average trader.
The options trading on the platform is complicated to use. It is fine for simple trades but not easy if you like to do multiple related trades.

Easy to log into, most things are easy to find, research tools are fairly strong, offers some technical advice, retains past history, pretty easy to reach a broker and they are friendly and seem knowledgable.
Some things are really hard to find and figure out. Would like to have more than 10 years of historical data. Would like to have more native options such as using 401K to buy a house.
$6.95 per trade
